3D Printable Terrain Made for the Tabletop

Printable Realms is developing a collection of 3D printable terrain for dungeon masters, wargamers, and hobbyists who enjoy building their own gaming environments. Our focus is modular floors, walls, buildings, and scenery designed for FDM printing and practical use at the table.

A good terrain piece needs to earn its place in your collection. It should print reliably, fit its intended connections, and leave enough room for miniatures and gameplay. Surface detail should remain visible after printing and painting, while doors, windows, and structural components should work as part of the finished build.

Those priorities guide our development—from the first digital model through physical prototypes and revised designs.

A Modular Terrain Collection That Grows With Your Games

Modular tabletop terrain gives you more ways to use the pieces you already have. Floors and walls can become a narrow dungeon passage, a large encounter room, a village building, or the remains of a ruined structure. Rearranging those components creates another setting without requiring an entirely new collection.

We’re building compatible terrain around shared dimensions and connection standards. That includes how floor sections align, where walls sit, how corners meet, and how elevated surfaces are supported. Compatibility is specific to each component’s interface, and individual sets will explain which pieces work together.

The aim is straightforward: start with a useful selection of terrain, print extra copies where you need them, and add components that open up new building possibilities.

Dungeon Floors, Walls, Buildings & Elevated Terrain

Our development includes modular dungeon tiles, architectural wall sections, doors, windows, corners, and structural pieces. Together, these components form the foundation for rooms, corridors, courtyards, and larger tabletop layouts.

Floor tiles in different sizes let you balance layout flexibility with fewer seams across larger spaces. Wall variations add character and change how a building functions. Doorways, windows, and removable components give you options for access and visibility during play.

Elevation adds another dimension. Raised platforms, risers, stairs, and upper floors can create changes in height and more varied encounters. We consider stability, assembly, and access alongside appearance so those features remain useful once miniatures reach the table.

As the collection develops, our goal is to build terrain families with a consistent visual style and clearly defined compatibility.

Designed for FDM 3D Printing

Our STL terrain files are being developed with the printing process in mind. We consider orientation, overhangs, bridging, wall thickness, connector tolerances, and the strength of parts that will be handled repeatedly.

Texture matters too. Stone joints, wood grain, cracks, and architectural relief need enough definition to read clearly from normal gaming distance. We balance that detail against usable floor space, miniature stability, and clean assembly.

Physical print testing helps us check what a render cannot show: whether a connector fits, a wall feels sturdy, or a surface supports a miniature securely. Prototypes are assembled, examined, and revised as part of that process.

Build a Collection That Fits Your Table

Printable terrain lets you choose how much to make and where to expand. A compact encounter might need only a room and a few walls. A larger campaign layout can grow through repeated floor sections, additional doorways, and changes in elevation.

We’re developing terrain for tabletop RPGs and wargames. When planning a layout for 28mm or 32mm miniatures, consider base sizes, doorway clearance, wall placement, and playable floor space. Check each model’s dimensions before printing; miniature scale labels alone do not guarantee a good fit.

When will the first terrain sets be available?
